Pre Primary Curriculum

Our pre- primary year’s program aims not just at imparting knowledge but also inculcating attitudes, values and beliefs which help in the holistic development of the child. Today, children need to collaborate and compete in a globalized world.  A world that requires a strong foundation right from the beginning, and good early years of education are critical to developing the skills and habits associated with learning that will serve children throughout their lives. We have developed a distinct curriculum that is designed to nurture and challenge a child’s diverse intellectual capabilities and talents, guiding them to their full potential. From the moment children walk through the gates of ATS Valley preschool, they embark on a journey of discovery. Safe, stimulating and supportive – the physical environment at ATS Valley provides opportunities to learn, play, explore and grow.

The curriculum is divided into “themes” that are carried across learning areas. Concepts are brought alive through auditory, visual and kinesthetic experiences that include sensorial activities, exercises of practical life, and language and numeracy concepts through teaching aids and working with Montessori equipment, field trips and constant interaction with teachers and peers. We focus on seven specific areas of learning and development which help students to be ready for Grade 1 which are - Communication and Language; Physical development; Personal, Social and Emotional Development; Numeracy and Literacy; Understanding the World; and Expressive Arts and Design. Each area of learning and development is implemented through planned, purposeful play and through a mix of adult-led and child-initiated activity. Play is essential for children’s development, building their confidence as they learn to explore, to think about problems, and relate to others. We ensure that our learning objectives take care of all that is required for a student to know in the beginning of first grade. Our Upper KG program is designed to meet the standard required in the beginning of grade 1. Students discover how to organize concepts and tasks while keeping their senses open to the world around them. Children learn how to work together as well as independently. They are encouraged and taught to love learning new things; not simply by exposure to many different things, but by learning how to make the most of these opportunities.
