ATS Valley School
Primary School

The Primary School years are a child’s first experience of formal education. Our experienced and caring staff will provide a warm and welcoming learning environment for the children so that they set out on their educational journey on a positive note.

At this stage children will learn important skills like comprehension, concentration, drawing connections between disparate things and the ability to cooperate with others while being involved in structured play activities. Our curriculum will lay strong emphasis on a constructivist approach where the child will be the architect of her/his own knowledge. Underlying every learning topic will be a concept-base which will encourage children to see the connections between different subject areas. In every subject, there will be a strong emphasis on equipment and materials which promote the spirit of self-investigation .We believe that storytelling, ceramics, learning how to play musical instruments, dance and drama are as important for learning as any academic subject.

As a part of their social development, students will learn how to accept responsibilities such as cleaning up their area after eating and solving problems by working together. The relationships the children build through the primary school years continue as they move into secondary school. In order to nurture these, we will carry out circle time, conduct assemblies and class activities to promote mutual respect and consideration for others.
