Independence Day Celebrations
ATS Valley School marked the occasion of India's Independence Day by holding a cultural programme in the school premises. The school
witnessed participation of students of all classes in patriotic songs and group dances along with theatre done by the senior students.
A puppet show was arranged by the ATS Valley School, Derabassi for all of its students.It started off by a dance performance of a puppet, dressed as a lady in a colorful Lehnga, as animated by the puppeteer. The puppeteer made the puppet groove to the tunes of Radha song from the movie Student of the year. The puppeteer also introduced a puppet resembling Amitabh Bachchan, dressed in his quintessential two piece suit which made the students go in an ecstatic mode. A spirit of patriotism was evident among the students when the song – “Sabse aage honge hindustani” was played. The kids laughed and danced along the phenomenal puppetry act. It gave kids an essential entertainment break and introduced & reminded them of the wonderful art of puppetry.
Graduation Day is the day when our kindergarten students are given a farewell and they move up to the ‘primary section’. The students are really excited and seem joyous. The students of grades Foundation and LKG give farewell to students of UKG. The highlight of the Graduation Ceremony is the little pass-outs wearing gowns and hats and receiving their certificate of appreciation.
The pre-primary section celebrated its Annual Sports Day on February 17, 2018 with full zest and excitement. The tiny-tots of pre-primary section participated enthusiastically in all the sports events. The day started with a ‘jog on the track’ performed by students of every class followed by various races. A sprint race was specially organized for the underprivileged students who take evening classes in our school. Apart from this, the students of UKG demonstrated some yoga asanas and also played a friendly football match. There were fun races for parents and musical chairs for the grandparents. The program concluded with the prize distribution ceremony for all the winners. It was a fun filled day which infused the children with a spirit of friendly competition.
The Pre-Primary students of ATS Valley School celebrated their Annual Day on 28th October, 2017 with great enthusiasm and zest. The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and the Principal’s speech. This was followed by a welcome song by the students of UKG. The tiny tots captured the hearts of the audience with the enactment of three plays that brought to life the stories of – Monkey and the Cap- seller, Three Little Pigs and Billy Goats Gruff. Music and dance added flavour to their theatrical performances. Every child participated and made it a beautiful spectacle worth a watch. The little ones held the entire show with commendable confidence, their convincing acting skills, charm and vibrancy. This speaks volumes about the dedication of the school in creating well-groomed and confident citizens of tomorrow.
A Visit to Zoo
On 29th April, 2017 there was visit of the pre-school (LKG and UKG) to Chattbir zoo, Zirakpur. Chattbir zoo is the largest zoo in north India. This place seemed to be a wild life heaven that offered a unique opportunity to explore the wild animals on a wonderful safari. Class LKG and UKG along with the teachers and the supporting staff had a blast on this trip to zoo where they saw many animals- Royal Bengal tiger, White tiger, Hippopotamus, Swamp deer, Asian elephant, Chimpanzee, Indian leopard, jaguar and many more. It was a great learning and an adventurous experience for the tiny tots at the beginning of the session.
‘Kalpana’ is an annual event which is held at the school and it includes a science exhibition besides a host of cum adventure activities. Preschoolers also participated enthusiastically. Their theme was ‘Transport’ and for that they made a scrap book full of art and craft activities based on different modes of transport. Such activity helps enhance their learning and knowledge and most importantly teaches them the skill of presentation and participation.
Though every day is a Children’s Day at ATS Valley School, 14th November is specifically dedicated to our little ones. Teachers perform dance, music, role plays, rhymes, etc. and entertain the children to make them feel really special. The children were joyous and excited.
